HR Assistant

What we are looking for

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented HR Assistant to join our ever growing Agency.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter who has worked in HR & preferably worked within the marketing, media & creative spaces. The role will be incredibly varied and the HR Assistant will be involved in all aspects of HR from talent acquisition, onboarding, maintaining and updating our HR database, compensation and benefits and talent development and training.  

The role will require someone to support the HR Manager and will be based in our Hertford office with regular travel to our London office.


As a fast growing Company there will be lots of opportunity to help grow the HR function and will suit someone who really wants to get involved and showcase their HR talent.

A snapshot of core responsibilities
• Assisting the Head of HR to source candidates, shortlist, conduct some interviews and manage the communication with all candidates
• Recruitment Administration, coordination of paperwork, offer letters & contracts including freelance paperwork requirements
• Support with the orientation process and carry out HR inductions
• Creation and maintenance of a Smyle Talent Bank
• Support the design and roll out of Smyle Academy
• Absence management / tracking holidays
• Provide full administration service for all employment related activities ensuring employee records (electronic and paper based) are accurate, up to date and compliant to legal and Company standards.
• Co-ordinate the administration of reward and benefits for Smyle employees
• Manage the leaver process
• Produce reports on a monthly basis for the Board and Managers
• Liaising with payroll to ensure monthly changes are actioned
• Supporting Managers with the bi-annual Performance Review Process
• First point of contact for basic HR queries
• Ownership of training administration
• Coordinate our Employee Award Scheme

This list is by no means exhaustive and there will be an opportunity to get involved with HR projects across the board.

The Person

Strong admin skills are an absolute must. The HR Assistant will need to be super organised and have a passion for admin and have been involved in resourcing previously. Someone with bags of initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment where there is never a dull moment!
• The HR Assistant will need to be comfortable working and liaising with all people in the Company so will need really strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• You will need to be a team-player who is committed to working collaboratively and supportively with all your colleagues.
• Excellent attention to detail, numeracy and ofcourse confidentiality will be required as you will be dealing with salary data and sensitive HR related information.
• You will need good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
• Solid HR administration experience is a must.
