Account Executive

The Role
The Account Executive role at Smyle is focused upon supporting the team in delivering brilliant client services, establishing client relationships, and developing a strategic mindset for growth and innovation.  

They will play an integral role in the departments operational success, working with the team to implement new processes, lead on insights gathering, and the external marketing plans for Smyle. Day to day will be an exciting mix of campaign delivery, supporting on pitch development and delivery, as well as research and account handling.

This entry level position is ideal for a graduate, or candidate with some experience within the events and marketing industries. They will be passionate about people, experiences and innovation, with an enquiring mind and a keen desire to learn.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Account Manager, Account Director, Head of Client Services and Directors on Client Services initiatives and Account Plans

  • Where required, take ownership of agreed Tier 3 accounts, to forge owned relationships and uncover new opportunities

  • Understanding our client’s brands and become an ambassador within Smyle for their brand behaviours, guidelines, and strategy

  • Developing and maintaining ongoing account and sector insights, and sharing them with wider teams to support relevant proposals and solutions

  • On key projects, providing day to day support for the team around project delivery, internal team integration and alignment. Communication and liaison as required with clients at a mid to junior level
  • Ongoing account management: Drafting briefing documents, meeting agendas, taking comprehensive meeting notes, and drafting action plans to support the team to deliver on client requirements
  • Work with the client services team to ensure measurement and reporting is integral to campaigns where appropriate, and take ownership of generating accurate reports and analysis
  • Work within teams to support on pitching fresh and innovative ideas to clients
  • Accountability for contributing towards achieving and maintaining NPS scores of 9-10 on named clients

  • Development of key relationships at junior level within the client business; where possible and to support clients’ personal and business objectives beyond projects, as part of the client servicing effort and where this can be supported by Smyle.

  • Attend the live events and projects within the named accounts.

  • Update client data on Smyle’s CRM – Salesforce.

Other Responsibilities

  • Act as an interface to the Account Manager, Account Director, Head of Client Services and Directors to report on the named accounts on a regular basis

  • Contribute to the pitch process to maximise Smyle’s win rate

  • Ensure that every show and or live experience on named accounts delivers to the Smyle Gold standard.

  • Attend, update and proactively participate in fortnightly Sales & Marketing team meetings.

  • Follow the guidelines of all company policies, both at HQ and on-site, paying particular attention to Health & Safety

  • Actively participate in Smyle’s sustainability initiatives and observe the policies and procedures which underpin Smyle’s ISO20121 certification.

     

    Requirements:

  • Graduate level, or previous experience in events, marketing or professional client relationship management, with the ability to develop trust and inspire loyalty with clients at all levels.

  • An interest in people, and a will to forge strong relationships using skills that can be developed to a strategic level.

  • Results oriented, with an interest in business development.

  • Proven interest in the live activations, marketing and creative industries, and a passion for creative innovation

  • Awareness of strategy and insights with a desire to develop this skillset across all touchpoints, including pitch and project solutions.

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Interest in developing presentation skills.

  • Good planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.

  • Resilient under pressure with the ability to maintain high level of accuracy & adhere to high standards of quality when working to tight deadlines.

  • Interest in or experience of managing budgets

  • Proficient and experienced user of Microsoft Office suite is essential, particularly Outlook & Excel. Keynote is desirable.
