Event Producer

The Role

We are looking to fill 2 Event Producer roles.

The Event Producer at Smyle is focused on producing events and activations for major corporates and high-profile brands. The role will undertake projects of varying sizes and be responsible for on-going client account management along with all aspects of project communication, scheduling, budgeting and event delivery.  Not only will the role require you to lead by example on projects there will also be a requirement for development and mentoring of members of the event team. 

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationships

  • Support the Client Services team in developing an in-depth understanding of the brand of all client accounts and build/drive excellent relationships and client satisfaction
  • Responsible for client submissions including our approach and response to the brief from a content perspective, creative approach and budget
  • Manage client contact leading all communications, calls and meetings
  • Be prepared to confidently present creative response/concepts, production documents and budgets to senior clients
  • Ensure absolute client satisfaction on all client accounts and projects

Project Leadership

  • Build relationships with other departments within Smyle; operations, creative, production and logistics, establishing and maintaining regular project meetings driving efficiency and productive project management
  • Provide leadership and direction for the wider project team; developing critical paths and milestones schedules, ensuring these are followed, maintained and meet the expectations of the client 
  • Deliver project solutions to the high standards expected by Smyle, always following our operational (Basecamp) and financial management (Procim) systems and procedures so project teams can follow process
  • Manage and create own budgets, overseeing all other departments figures, ensuring client approval of all spend, all GP targets are met, all PO’s raised in a timely manner, and all sales invoices raised to client on time
  • Manage and negotiate with suppliers/freelancers to ensure timely delivery and excellent rates
  • Prepare and schedule post event debriefs including; client, internal departments and suppliers, producing reports and sharing lessons learnt with Smyle colleagues and departments


  • Work with the Creative team to develop creative solutions/experiential concepts, ensuring adequate and appropriate creative resources are available within the studio.
  • Bring extensive knowledge of complex events, logistics and production to the creative process and motivate the team to devise and deliver original ideas    
  • Ensure that client brand guidelines are applied consistently across all aspects of the project including communications, content and environment
  • Supporting the client services team to manage pitches including playing a key role in the pitch team, agreeing the approach, structure, timeline and presentation
  • Oversee production including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, resourcing and budgets
  • Ensure the final pitch aligns to the client’s brand values and Smyle's gold standard  
  • Deliver pitches directly to clients alongside the Directors and other Smyle colleagues

 Leadership and Teamwork

  • Mentoring less experienced team members and supporting the Head of Events with process reviews, supplier and freelance roster management

  • Experience as an Event Producer role within a similar size & quality organisation
  • Expert knowledge of and proven experience in the events arena, with the ability to develop trust and inspire loyalty with clients at all levels
  • Proven capability to lead complex projects budgets; up to £1m, audience size of up to 3,000, and in excess of 50+ project staff 
  • Specialist in live presentations - content preparation and delivery
  • Full knowledge of creative, logistical, technical, operational and production procedures
  • Team leadership experience, ability to mentor team members and motivate the team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Resilient under pressure with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy & adhere to high standards of quality when working to tight deadlines
  • Proficient and experienced user of Microsoft Office suite is essential, particularly Outlook & Excel
  • Strong track record in complex experimental events for high-profile brands, B2C brand events and B2B conference delivery including major corporates and high-profile brands.
  • Exceptional presentation and pitching skills.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
